When I first came back to the Bay Area as a young man in my early twenties I worked largely as a union painter. I was a hard worker and I watched everything my superiors did and followed their lead. I quickly became a foreman. When my son was born I realized I needed to give him more stability and greater opportunity; that's when McCartney Painting was formally started. My son, Clancy, just turned 20-years-old in May 2009 and is doing well at Du Paul University in Chicago.

Over the years we’ve experienced it all – unexpected dry-rot, products that don’t work well together, the effects of previous bad paint jobs – and we know what to do to give you a completely successful project.

However, if your project is beyond our scope we know who to bring on board to get the job done right and regularly partner with specialized trades on intricate projects that go beyond painting.
